These are the rules for using the Bigs app. They are short on purpose. By creating an account you agree to them.

Who we are

Bigs is a language learning app for English, Chinese and Russian. "We" on this page means the operator of Bigs. Contact: hello@bigsapp.com

Your account

• You must be 13 or older. If you are under the age at which your country lets you agree to this yourself, a parent or guardian has to agree for you.
• One account per person. Keep your password to yourself: what is done with your account counts as done by you.
• The display name you choose is shown to other learners in the leagues. It must not be offensive, pretend to be someone else or advertise anything. We may clear a name that breaks this.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile, "Delete my account". See how deleting works.

Playing fair

The leagues compare learners with each other. Do not use scripts, modified apps or several accounts to raise a score or to collect rewards. We may remove scores and rewards that were not earned by playing, and close accounts that keep doing it.

Hearts, coins, chests and items

• Hearts, coins, chests and the things bought with coins exist only inside the app. They are not money, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be passed to another account.
• Chests are earned by learning and playing, never sold. What a chest can hold, and how likely each thing is, is shown in the Store.
• We may change what things cost in coins and what activities pay. What you already hold stays yours.

Premium and purchases

• Bigs is free to use. Some features may be offered as a paid subscription ("Premium") or as one-time purchases. The price is shown before you buy.
• Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and follow their payment terms. A subscription renews by itself at the end of each period until you cancel it. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app or your Bigs account does not cancel a subscription.
• If a free trial is offered, the first payment is taken when the trial ends, unless you cancel before that.
• Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its rules. Rights you have under the consumer law of your country are not limited by these terms.

Advertising

The free version shows advertising. Some ads are offered in exchange for a reward, and those are always your choice. How ads use data is explained in the privacy policy.

Our content and yours

The lessons, texts, drawings and the app itself belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may use them to learn, for yourself. You may not copy them out in bulk, republish them or build another product from them.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work to keep Bigs running and its lessons correct, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of mistakes. Bigs is a learning aid, not a certificate: it does not guarantee a result in any exam. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the app. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending

You can stop using Bigs and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we ever close the service, we will say so in the app in advance.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. If a change matters for you, the app tells you before it takes effect.

Law

These terms follow the law of the country where the operator of Bigs is established. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
